Definition
Seokguram Grotto is A national treasure.
The temple was founded by Kim Dae-sung of Unified Silla during the inter-Korean period in the eastern part of Tohamsan Mountain in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

the foundation of Seokguram
The construction was started in 751 under the leadership of Prime Minister Kim Dae-sung during the reign of King Gyeongdeok of Silla and was completed in 774 (10th year of King Hyegong).
The original name of Seokbulsa was given.

Authenticity
The main Buddha of Seokguram and most of the stone sculptures and architecture around it remain intact in the original form of the 8th century, which is highly authentic. The stone heritage of Bulguksa Temple was partially repaired and maintained in its original form during the Silla Period. Wooden buildings have been undergoing renovation and restoration since the 16th century. All restoration projects were based on thorough historical records and traditional materials and technologies were used.
